Agency: USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture

Purpose: To implement applied scientific programs that serve public needs in preparation for, during, and after local or regional emergency situations.

Opportunity: Improving Efficiency, Reliability, and Flexibility of Existing Coal-Based Power Plants

Agency: DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory

Purpose: To seek information from coal-fueled power plant owners, operators, equipment manufacturers, architect-engineers, and other stakeholders about Research and Development (R&D) activities that could lead to development of advanced technologies for existing coal-fueled electricity generating units (EGUs) that could improve the overall performance, reliability, and flexibility of the nation’s existing fleet of coal-fueled EGUs.
