Department of Homeland Security, Office of Procurement Operations – Grants Division
School-Age Trauma Training (SATT – final name of training to be proposed by grantee and approved by FEMA) is intended to establish a long-term, self-sustaining mechanism (e.g. no further Federal funding beyond Phase III), to deliver free to the public, lifesaving trauma training to high school age students for mass casualty events. The government expects the grantee to design, develop and implement a training capability based upon the Phase tasks and to sustain the offerings beyond the Phase III funding resource provided by the government.

Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management
Since 2000, the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Program provides Federal funds to counties that traditionally have been supported by timber payments. These payments make up for the loss in timber payments caused by the decline in timber harvest on Federal lands that occurred in the 1990s.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers competitively awarded grants to qualified small businesses to support high quality research related to important scientific problems and opportunities in agriculture that could lead to significant public benefits. The program stimulates technological innovations in the private sector and strengthens the role of federal research and development in support of small businesses. The SBIR program also fosters and encourages participation by women-owned and socially or economically disadvantaged small businesses.

The goals of the SaTC program are aligned with the Federal Cybersecurity Research and Development Strategic Plan (RDSP) and the National Privacy Research Strategy (NPRS) to protect and preserve the growing social and economic benefits of cyber systems while ensuring security and privacy.

The purpose of the Technical Assistance and Dissemination to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program is to promote academic achievement and to improve results for children with disabilities by providing technical assistance, supporting model demonstration projects, disseminating useful information, and implementing activities that are supported by scientifically based research.
