As of February 21st, 2022, users must sign in to Grants.gov with Login.gov credentials. Link your Login.gov account now.
Grants.gov is always looking for ways to improve our users’ experience. In 2020, we added an option for users who would like to sign in to Grants.gov with their Login.gov username and password.
To improve user security, as well as comply with Executive Order 14028, Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity1, non-federal users will be required to sign in to Grants.gov with Login.gov credentials by February 21st, 2022. EBiz POCs will not be affected. Grants.gov will still support PIV or AMS authentication methods for federal users.
Login.gov is used by over 60 applications at 17 federal agencies and allows users to access multiple government websites, including Grants.gov, with a single username and password.
Linking your Login.gov account to your Grants.gov account means you only need to maintain one set of credentials moving forward.
The process for linking Grants.gov and Login.gov accounts is simple. Here are the steps:
- Click the Login.gov button on the Grants.gov login screen.
- Complete the login process on Login.gov using your Login.gov username (an email address) and password.
- You will then be directed back to Grants.gov to log in with your Grants.gov username and password. This will complete the account linking process.
The next time you return to Grants.gov, just click on the Login.gov button and enter your Login.gov account username (an email address) and password.

I have two accounts for grants.gov, one for me, one for the company, with the same e-mail, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to link both.

This is a great feature. Has the agency consider adding Google or Facebook Credentials to allow users to access the information that way? I know you may not be able to because of government security reason. However, so many websites these days use them and I know it would provide another added convenience that would attract more users. Just a thought… Let me know what you think or if this is in the works. Thanks as always!
